Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is a writer and American actor who is active in theater as well as television and film. She began acting on stage and then appeared in independent, mainstream and television series. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she received critical acclaim and various nominations and awards including the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. Her career began as an actress in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel in The Tempest. Her stage credits include The Broadway production that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her most well-known work is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. Her role on television in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her praises.
