McKayla Rose Maroney has retired as an American artist and gymnast. She was awarded the silver and gold medals in vault contests of both the American gymnastics team and for the Fierce Five in the Summer Olympics of 2012. Her early life. McKayla Rose Maroney is the daughter of Erin Maroney and Mike Maroney. (died 2019.) McKayla comes from Irish Catholic heritage. Her brothers were Tarynn and Kav. Homeschooling was done to prepare her for elite gymnastics. Maroney stated, "When I was younger I used to watch Tarzan and jumping around on all fours. "I have to enroll the child in gymnastics," my mom told me. Lauren Drain is an ex-member of Westboro Baptist Church. She published her memoir Banished (2013) in which she describes her experience with the church, and ultimately being exiled. Lauren has married fitness model David Kagan in August 2013. Aria Skye Kagan was born to David and Lauren on the 29th of December, 2019. It was a brief time she lived on her own in Topeka however she was plagued by thoughts of being banished from her home and church. Her parents, two sisters and brother also remained in the church but broke all ties with her.
